One of the most important actions of the project, the eradication of rats from Ventotene and Palmarola, is about to start: from mid-January until April, trained personnel of Latium Region will be on the islands to place rodenticide baits. In line with international protocols that have already been successfully used to eradicate rats from hundreds of small islands around the world, baits will be placed inside special containers that will prevent the ingestion by other non-target animals. In very few areas, inaccessible by land, baits will be distributed, in biodegradable containers, by helicopter.

Among the few precautions, in addiction to not handling the containers, we invite people to avoid the consumption of snails for the next months.
