On 19 and 20 October, in Lampedusa and Linosa, there was the final conference of the LIFE Pelagic Birds project, a “friend” of PonDerat, sharing with it several goals, including the eradication of Carpobrotus and black rats.

PonDerat staff attended the conference to present the experience in progress on the Ponziane islands. It was an event full of stimulating interventions and fruitful exchanges of ideas: sharing experiences between different projects is definitely the key to meet future challenges.

In Linosa there was an exciting ceremony with the placing of a statue donated by the Arma dei Carabinieri, in the presence of the Colonel Pellegrino. The statue, depicting a Scopoli’s shearwater supported by a hand, symbolizes the importance of this species for Linosa and the commitment of the Arma dei Carabinieri and the citizens in its protection.
