From 20 to 22 of February, the staff of Life PonDerat was back on the island of Ventotene. Three busy days, very intense and fruitful.

Among the different activities: 

• a new sampling of the black rat population present on Ventotene to identify genetic characteristics and health risk factors;
• surveys in the different areas where black rat eradication will be carried out;
• circumnavigation of the island by sea to refine mapping of Carpobrotus and to study the places where the eradication of this invasive plant species will take place.

Above all, it was an opportunity for a number of useful meetings with the residents, whose support will be crucial for the success of the Life PonDerat project.
