While Rome is in the grip of a scorching heat wave, the botanists of the PonDerat team find shelter in the cool rooms of the Herbarium of Sapienza University. Here, they are comparing some fern individuals gathered this year with dried specimens gathered by Prof. Bruno Anzalone in the Ponziane islands years ago.

We have probably found individuals of a species that was last observed in Zannone in the ‘60s… we’ll let you know this September!
